The Russian Air Force in Ukraine

The ‘absence’ of the Russian Air Force (strictly speaking the Aerospace Forces – VKS) in the re-ignited Ukraine conflict has been very puzzling. Apparently flying only a very limited number of sorties in the beginning of the invasion, I talk about some of the potential reasons for this, and shed more lights on the strengths and limitations of the Russian Air Force.
